Andrew PapageorgeDuring his 30 years as a consultant to management, Mark Haas CMC® FIMC has improved the ability of public and private organizations to understand and profit from their internal potential and market opportunities. His principal areas of expertise and research are integrating strategy development, performance measurement and individual and organizational decision making. He founded Research and Organizational Managment (ROM) in 1994 to help executives of small and medium size businesses learn the strategy and decision making skills needed to turn potential into performance.

Recent projects include advising the merger of two professional associations, the restructuring of a multibillion dollar health research enterprise, assessing performance improvement at a college, designing a project management structure for a health care project, conducting a feasibility assessment for a national information clearinghouse initiative, setting up a performance measurement system for a technology research program, conducting seminars on ethics and decisionmaking, and developing a new operational strategy for a trade association. He served (1997-2003) on the Board of Examiners for the U.S. Senate Productivity Award and Maryland State Quality Award (Baldrige criteria) and was a lead examiner. He has held many professional society leadership positions, including the Institute of Management Consultants USA (National Board Chair, past Ethics Committee Chair, and past Washington, DC chapter president), Alumni Council of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, Society of Petroleum Engineers (past chapter president and national committee chair) and the American Association of Engineering Societies (national committee member). He has published more than 25 technical papers, several book chapters and magazine articles, and serves as an invited speaker and panelist. Mr. Haas received a graduate degree in planning from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and his undergraduate degree in biology from Colgate University. He has completed additional course work in quality management, mathematical economics, engineering, financial evaluation, program evaluation, and systems sciences.
